Eragon, Parts 1 & 2!

Part 1:

Part 2:

Hello. I'm the Literary Critic.

And hopefully, this blog won't suck!

Well, "blog" might be a little strong. Basically, I'll just be posting links to new videos and updates on how upcoming ones are progressing.

What videos, you ask? Well, I review books on the interwebs in video format. To make up for the lack of a visual elements, I spend entirely too much time drawing a bunch of little cartoons to illustrate what's going on.

I'm just starting out, and I'm kind of a noob at the whole multimedia thing, but I've been an unrepentant fanboy of established internet show hosts like the Nostalgia Critic, Spoony, Linkara, and Angry Joe for a long time, so I've picked up a few ideas as to how to do this thing (and how not to.) Still, my equipment's kinda crappy and I'm just not nearly as pretty to look at as Doug Walker, but I'm working on the first and you're just gonna hafta deal with the second.

I should also note that while my name's "The Literary Critic," I'm really not much of a hardass on actual writing quality. I'm more concerned about plot holes and stupid characters, though if the writing's particularly bad, I'll bring it up. And don't expect an in-depth analysis of a story's symbolism or greater meaning; there are plenty of bitter, unpublished English majors out there who can give you that. Just find a forum and post about a book, any book...they'll find you.

So, now that we've established who I am and what you can expect from me, here's my Blip.tv site where you'll find new (and old) episodes. And, as previously mentioned, check back on this blog every now and then for links to new ones, and status updates on upcoming ones.

To get the ball rolling: I'm currently finishing my read-through of Christie Golden's "Arthas: Rise of the Lich King," and I've got the gist of the script written in my head. My new camera should arrive this week, and hopefully I'll be ready to film by the weekend! Then I just need to learn how to pull video from PC games and draw a whole mess of comic panels. So, 'bout a week and halfish.

'Til next time, I'm the Literary Critic, and welcome to my blog!
